Depression is often termed the ‘silent struggle’ due to its hidden yet profound impact on individuals’ lives. Affecting over 264 million people globally, it’s a common mental health disorder that remains shrouded in stigma. This article aims to shed light on everyday actions to manage depression, emphasizing that small steps can lead to significant changes.

Understanding Depression

Depression is more than just a bad mood — it’s a serious medical condition that involves the brain. Interesting fact: According to the World Health Organization, depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide.

It’s characterized by persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, and a range of emotional and physical problems.

It is hard to admit to yourself that you have a problem and even taking the next step to feeling better. Totally understandable! It is even worse to make yourself go visit a specialist regarding this problem! It feels like shame and you are worried what would other say. Let me just say — who cares what people say. But before we get to this stage, there are some steps you can take and try to help yourself:
